I'll be putting filters over each one and running a big air pipe to them.

you will lose rather a lot of power from stock doing that
the stock air box and set up is very good for a stock engine.
if you do cams etc then you can make some mods to the rest of the intake.
but opens trumpets with filter socks are not a good option.

Mmm...I've got a whole list of parts I wanna get. What sort of cams do you recommend for daily use?

Shopping list includes T3 trumpets, pulleys, 3.7Kg flywheel and custom extractors.

    im no cam expert
but sounds like your of to a better start than i assumed!

toyota spent a lot of $$ on designing that surge tank. so while it can be improved on for certain applications. its not as easy as just biffing on some trumpets

For my 2nd engine, I was initially planning on 288/288 or 272/288 but after speaking with a few guys with similar setup, I don't like the idea of no balls below 4K and then a roadtrain after lol =P

Plans atm is 264/272 =) Some poke with balls =D

    Sounds good.

I think my VCT is starting to go cactus. At higher RPM the motors is pretty rattley.
