I was surprised at how well the 20 year old pioneer stock sound system sounds in my celsior! i have heard the nakumichi sound system is even better. Im in the process now of wiring in an aux connection so i can connect the ipod to the stock sound system. Cheaper then trying to get the CD changer magazine thing which was missing from mine.

Even when you get a magazine you'll find the laser is probably stuffed. And thats a $600 cost to replace.

    Been there, done that.

Mine was fine with brand new CD's, but anything with a scratch on it just brought up error messages.

wll mine seems to be going pretty hard, reads just bout anything and is clear as a bell with no poping or anything i was kinda expecting there to be some distaution in the speakers but nothing as of yet.

BUT! as alo of people hava said on here the LCD screen in the front that shows the, Time, and the temp of the heater and airconditioner is stuffed its bleeded all the way through so i cant figure out the heater (i no i no NUBE) are these easily replaced what $$$ damage am i looking at?

Do you have C or CF ?

C can be fixed for a couple of hundred.
    CF cannot be fixed.

how come the CF celsior LCD's cant be fixed? is that because no one sells a replacement?

I know they sell a replacement LCD for the ls400's for about $160USD and its a bugger to solder in yourself unless your pretty experienced with a solder iron.

On another note i got qouted $1500ea for the front upper control arms (seem to be a commonly worn out part on celsior/ls400's) Luckily i found a place that sells the pair of them for $200USD. Now to order and replace the rest of the front suspension components -

No one aftermarket sells a replacement.
You can buy them genuine from Toyota but you have to buy the whole climate control module.

Ditto, stacker is perfect in my car subs distorts with anything over half bass in when the volume is cranked up. XR6 had the same problem with the sub as well.

Does anyone know of a bolt in replacement for the factory sub. Don't want to go spend too much money but the distortion in songs that contain a decent amount of bass annoys me, what can the factory amp handle as well.

Timing belt & front crank seal for me was around the $1000 mark. Tonnes of labour cost being the main hit due to so much shit being in the way that has to be removed & re-installed.
