use 3/8 or 10mm for the rest of the connections i used that size
I'm setting up the fuel system for my 4AGTE AE86 and am hoping I can get away with using the stock ADM hardlines that run under the body. I know ideally the feed line is probably a little on the small side but I am likely to have any issues? It will be running a surge tank and 044 feed pump. Is 1/4inch hose ok for the rest of connections between hard lines/tank/fuel rail/surge tank etc.

Any reason for 3/8? I was thinking I might step it up to 5/16 for the flexible hose connections figuring that would be plenty, maybe a short 3/8 section for the feed to the pump from the surge tank?
An 044 moves a bit of fuel, i run a single 3/8 feed and run the standard line as a return as i hope it doesnt return as much fuel as it feeds...!
I say use bigger as it'd be a pain to get it all sorted and get it on the dyno and then find that the car isnt getting enough fuel due to the lines and no the pump that you just replaced or the injectors you just had flow tested...??? Its not an expensive task anyway, so wouldnt be to painful to get ahead of now...

+1 for just run new lines to clear any doubt and save having to do it later!
Just grab some of the aluminium fuel line, its piss easy to install! Bends, cuts and flares very easily!

Pushing my luck though maybe.
Doing it from scratch I would go 10mm at a minimum on a 4AGTE chasing 200+.

8mm 5/16 has also worked on my celica, with an 044 aswell,
running 5/16 lines in the corona with a vl pump for the 1j, will see how that goes once it moves onto a dyno.......
but if you are going to run new lines, make it overkill, 10mm![]()
Ok - sold on the 3/8! I just found a chart on the net with recommended fuel line sizes for HP output and it states 5/16 is ok up to 250HP! So I'm going 3/8 to be safe.
I'm calling past my local brake mob tonight to pick up some brakes lines I'm getting flared, I'll ask if they have 3/8 bundy tube but I think it might be a bit big for them - any recommendations as to the best place to pickup some in Melb S.E? Or online if its cheap enough?
Thry the MSCN website, you can get it in alloy pipe and its sooooo much easier to work with than bundy tube. not sure on the prices.

i dont have a funny or cool signature.
My brake mob had some so grabbed 3m - was pretty cheap. He mentioned its a bit hard to work with but I'll give it a go.
got a pipe bender? if not get one! makes it so much easier!
Whats the consensus on running fuel feed hardline through the cabin? I found a thread on another forum where they recommended doing this for a rally car. BTW this car will not be road registered. It makes sense a far as it could not easily be punctured by track debris or bottoming out of the car?
Whats the car going to be used for?
For rally it might be okay, cause your more likely to have something flick up and damage it then you are to have it damaged in an accident... Where as with most other motorsports (drift, circuit etc) your not likely to have something flick up unless your involved in a serious acco, in which case its best to have the fuel outside of the cabin...

Just tarmac/circuit use - no offroad. Seems like it would be easier to route through the cabin than under the floor pan but I think try underneath.
Any do's or dont's I should know about when routing it? I'll try and keep it away from anywhere that could bottom out - maybe try run it up the trans tunnel?
