If your using a 20v head you can use the variable inlet cam timming to make the turbo spool earlier .. I have seen a RB26 engine with a HKS Vcam set up on the inlet cam spool a T51 Turbo early and make a very strong mid range . without the Vcam the turbo is very laggy . when you get the turbo housing can you post some pics of it ?

Poggy in your searches did you find a rear T28 based flange that was non internal wastegated? ie designed to run an external gate?

With the twin scrolls you get very good response without loosing any top end.

I run a larger turbo over the GT3071R, its a Masterpower T58 and I get full boost just before 4k on my 7agte running a stock 20v blacktop head.

I have another guy in NZ who I just supplied the same turbo as I run to run on his 4agte. He was making 365kw at the wheels on 32psi of boost on a older model turbo I supplied him, makes full boost just above 5k, the new turbo i'm supplying him should spool it up faster without loosing any top end. This car runs a stock gze bottom and with a stock blacktop head.

I find there is a big jump from a GT30 to a GT35. Masterpower make compressor wheel sizes which are in between and have been a good advantage for me .

what A/R exhaust housing are you using on the 7agte ?

well as most of you will probably know shit never goes right, mtq called me this arvo and told me the housing arrive and it wasnt divided, and that the only dived housing they can do to suit my cartridge is an 82, so i guess thats what im going with

a divided .82 will be laggy as all shit, especially on a 1.6L

whats wrong with the single entry .63 housing?

i seriously havn't seen a split pulse housing improve spool time on a proper B/B Turbo.

Anti-lag is your friend (but not so much the valvess or turbo's friend)
