Not exactly, if wheels have the angled wheel nuts they will center the wheel as they are tightened.

not always, they will be close but not nessecarily 100% perfect, even being .5mm off can cause balance problems at speed.

does it do it more frequently when turning a long corner or is it the same at all times?
where the wheels balanced staticly or dynamicly? where have they put the wheel weights? inside and outside, or inside and centre, or centre only? as this can cause different balance issues also.

What about steering rack bushes? It solved one guys problem after he did EVERYTHING possible to iron out the same sort of issue. It's something else to look out for if you're confident its not your wheel/tyres.

I don't think that any balance problem would ever be intermittent, except when its rotation speed is being changed, not from length of time.

i had a problem with my cressy snapping the wheel out of my hand if i applied any power on a left hander....turned out (after a lot of rooting around) that the rack bushes were knackered
replaced and all good but not sure if it would cause vibration like that. sounds like more of a balance thing.

So yesterday arvo i put on the AVS model 5's i have that i drift with (with soarer)
They are +30 offset so they sit on the Mark II fine without spacers.

17x8 +30
215/45/R17

The wheel wobble is LESS violent but still apparent at 80+ kph

I was thinking about this , and MattAE86 has sorta explained to me at work this morning the answer, but i jus wanna confirm

With the Z20 , if i remove any wheel on any corner. so im lookin at the hub i can say grab 2 studs opposite of each other, and move them independantly of the rotor approx .5mm

this also can be done on the rear of the Mark II , but the FRONT of the mark II they studs are stuck solidand will not move independant of the rotor ...

Matt said that the mark II's front suspension does not have "floating" rotors meaning the design does not enable the .5mm of movement as the Z20 does.

The studs are off to the "side" of the hole
yes my picture is shithouse but you get the idea.

It makes no difference what kinda of road it is , its speed related 80kph+ on any road even the flattest non bumpy / straight / long freeway corners , anything aslong as im doing aboe 80kph
The Works were balanced twice as i said in an earlier post, they are 100% Good
very few wheel weights on the rims as they were in such good nick when purchased

MWP wheel bearings , when broke , can be heard, and this wobble is not audable.

Loose wheel bearings (ie, incorrect nut tension) can create a wobble, but will be quiet.

looking at what youre describing about your disc and studs could it be that somehow or rather your discs are not sitting truly flat on the hubs? why not pull them off and give it a good look over clean off any rust and shit under there.

This is wheel, not steering wheel wobble and the wheel is not jumping up & down but in & out, front and back, right?
Don't some Toy. models have a steering damper, a horizontal shock absorber mounted on the rack? That shock would make a world of difference on aircooled VWs.

Castor makes the wheel want to go straight/self align, and toe is used to sort of pre-load the linkage while keeping the wheel straight ahead, so it sounds like yours just can't make up its mind. The strut angle/kingpin inclination should point to the ground in about the middle of the tire contact patch. Does your Camber & spacer & RCA & wheel offset & low profile tire make setup come anywhere close to hitting the center of the contact patch?

John, what you may be getting, as MWP has said, is just a loose wheel bearing.
Mine's been doing on one of the back ones for a while, no grinding noise or anything like that, just that the wheel has too much play when the car is jacked up and some excessive road noise from that wheel, if it was on the front i'd have had the steering wheel wobbling too.
When you do pull the wheels off, try and twist the hub side to side and if there is any excessive movement then you'll most likely need to either tighten the nut or replace the wheel bearing.

Anyways, gimme a call if you want me to come take a look.
