your welcome to have a go with my setup too, as its out of the car now... my rad is actually a new one in manual spec (no oil cooler going through it) and the fans are still attached ect again mine will take about 30mins to have running as well, the shrouds make a huge difference though seriously!!! with the magna fans i could drop hot temps not just prevent it and i dont know if you remember but ive got a 4" bar and plate cooler trans cooler had the condensor and shitty rad (old one), id grab a set of those magna fans (cost $50) see how you go they work well for some reason
pm if you want to give my rad and new thermo setup a go but i think the 50 dollar magna option was the best!
yeah i know ..... but overkill is our middle name ....Originally Posted by 1JZ.747

man as a combo i actually think my ones are 3200 at 13.2 volts and about 20-30 amp draw....i'll get ya the correct specs in a sec.....
Not sure how they are tested and what flow rates they are supposed to be..
if you still have your Hydraulic pump fitted, there is a fair bit of weight you will save by going to the water only pump.. and on that note...
If the Hydraulic/Water pump is still installed - how have you blocked it off ?? would this be causing your pump to have more resistance, or cause it to cavitate the coolant, making it ineffective ??
I just paid under $120 for my JZA80 Pump.. You will nead two o-rings and one gasket - they all come to less than $10 from memory..
You should already have the Pulley.. otherwise $80 from Gianttomato if I remember correctly

this fan shroud link is really cool !!! I'm going to make one tomorrow!!
hope it helps....
iMight actually keep the template and make a few blanks if ppl are interested (not working ATM so i got some time)
we made up a setup so its just runs the fluid through a circle of hose back into it self.Originally Posted by ProjectSleeper

that is how mine is run also. No problems so far but no power either.
mines the same as well even though i hated it to bits and not doing it this time!!! but no issues there unless you let it run dry....Originally Posted by chris davey
i like the idea of spacing back the fan and shrouding it to cover as much surface area of the radiator as possible.....
Big thumbs up to you guys who wanna loan 1jz.747 your set ups - i thought that was just tops!
Yeah, backspacing the fan slightly woudl improve the airflow reasonably.

well last nigt after making ducting so air cant get around the radiator, spacing the fan back etc etc. went for a test drive and things were marginally better. though it was a cold night. my mate was standing in front of the car and he said to me, shane its nice an warm at the front of the car here, i felt the inercooler and it was boiling, i got a rag and put it up against the fan
and guess what, the fan was wired incorrectly, i asked the person who put it on did they test it and they said yes twice. so there you go, it took 10 mins to cut a rewire went for a drive and hey presto it ran at a beautiful 74 to 76 degres cel.
althought i was happy, i really wanted to punch a hole through a wall for not tryint it earlier when you all said, Shane, check the fans going the right way, i checked the blades and they were pitched right, just spining the wrong bloody way.
so,
thankyou to allthe suggestions boys, you all come up with good stuff, and as craig said thanks to everyone for offering there set ups to try, i know you are all genuine about it too which is just great.
its great to see the toyota community is getting its commradery back.
