More than likely going to Melbourne to perve at the beautiful people, then up to Sydney to perve at the beautiful cars, how I get there and back is stil being decided, but I'm well aware it's cheaper to fly than drive!

3 days to Adelaide sounds good. The thought of slumming it at Madura for the night seems more appealing than a massive drive the day after by stopping at Balladonia. What are your thoughts?

depending on your time frame, you guys should consider melb - syd in a day. this is an easy way to cut time off your itinerary (sp?), and while a long drive, in a group of 4 cars it would by no means be horrendous. probably 11 hours all up (my record is ~9, but that was with creative interpretation of the speed limit, and stopping only for fuel)

I'll definitely be tagging along from Adelaide, & can offer 2 beds + shower for the overnight here in Adelaide (I really should check with my brother about this but, meh). My bro may also be joining up with the convoy, but that's a very big may at this stage.

When I drove over to Perth In 2004, I did Sydney to Adelaide in one day, then Adelaide to Ceduna the next (there's a nice little caravan park just outside of town with those apartment van type things) Ceduna to Norseman (the motel next door to the BP roadhouse is decent) the next and Norseman to Perth after that. Cant see why you'd want to go to Kalgoorlie though, way outta the way!

Re - Melbourne to Sydney, I also feel it should be done in a day, however as it's been pointed out, it's a fair amount of driving for a day, and considering not only will we be tired but also strangers to the world of toll roads, fixed speed cameras, shithouse roads, et al, ..., is there the possability of a small meet and greet from the NSW boys, as we drive into the BIG big smoke? Hell, a crusie through King Cross wouldn't go astray either?!
