    Default short throttle cables? ~55cm?

as part of the EFI upgrade to the 18RT, i've shifted the throttle much closer to the drivers seat - so the existing 1m-ish cable is way too long for use.

before i decide to butcher this cable, does anyone know what might be a good donor for a very short throttle cable?

a quick reckoning is that somewhere around 55cm from firewall to throttle mount would be ideal.

    anything come to mind?

    tia,
    Charles.

Try a mazda 808 i think there about that size from memory.
    If you mod yours ...
Cut the cable to the length you need ( cut from pedal side not throttle linkage side) Then you can crimp piece of steel to it ( i used a electrical terminal and cut the eye off it so it was just the crimp part) then solder the steel to the cable. It works a treat!! Then you can have the cable the perfect length!

P.S I have reeeeeeefed on mine and the soldered lug aint goin nowhere!

I think also AE86 (4AC) or AE71 cables would be about that long. KE70 cables are a bit longer than that though.

I usually start with a KE70 cable, and shorten it. Except I get a piece of brass rod and drill a little hole in it for the cable to go through, then solder it.

Solder and brass get on just fine... Ever think about various plumbing fittings, even radiators?

Key is though, isn't not 'solder' in the electrical sense, is it.
