yep. I agree
Hi guys,
I realise there are very good reasons for excluding short search terms (i.e. 3 characters or less), but how do you search on things like "w58"?
Trying to do a little research and check out some stuff for a w58 gearbox, but I can't search on "w58". Unfortunately searching on "w58 gearbox" (with quotes) gets you nothing and without quotes the search engine excludes w58 as it is too short.
Unfortunately this also applies when searching for the term "FAQ". A little ironic really when you try and look for them to answer a question like this![]()
Any info would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Dave

Good point. There is a way to add short words that are searchable, when I first set this up I included all the common engine codes but forgot gearbox ones and obviously FAQ.
If people have suggestions for any short words that should be able to be searched post them here and I'll get them included.
Thanks Josh. As well as the gearbox and diff codes (I don't know anything about toyota diffs but I assume they are coded similarly to gearboxes), what about common terms like BOV, i/c, ecu?
Cheers,
Dave
Just a note about this as well.... some people tend to write model codes and stuff separately such as "aw 11" I know it'll probably be a bitch trying to find every combination for that stuff though.

4agte finally completed. 234rwkw @ 8125rpm. Tis fun
another problem i found out once, but with short word posting is that if you quote info from another person or site etc, and dont add some of your own words, than it says please type 10 characters minimum. i just put full stops in there
whats the deal with that? im not bitching, just curious why ther is a minimum![]()
hello
Brett, the 10 character min stops the thread from being filled with replies like"me to" "lol" and the likes.
If it feels good "DO IT" Unless it harms others.(or upsets the RTA)
Enjoy what you have To Day,cause you can't take it with you.

Might i suggest adding 13", 14", 15", 17" etc etc to the short word list? I often tried searching for tyres for sale for example (on the old forum), or wheels, and its not possible. It would also cater for the "can i fit 20" on my sprinter?!11one" type threads also.

And also for the tech section can TIO be added.

You can use google to search the toymods forum (or any site for that matter)
simply type in
[keywords] site:[url of site]
so if you wanted to search for w58
you'd type in
w58 site:toymods.net

Gearboxes, engines, wheel diameters, turbo types and many more.
Even 5letter search would be awesome
