    Default Dizzy vs coilpacks: 1G-GTE

Ok, so the engine for the sillycar came with an EMS stinger (which will need to be re-wired) and a set of coilpacks. My question is: should I wire the EMS up with the coilpacks, or is this going to create more issues than it's worth? I'm imagining that if I use the dizzy and a coil as toyota intended, the ignition timing adjustment will be much more limited?

If the coils are anything worthwhile, and connected properly, there shouldn't be any problem. The dizzy only limits timing adjustment by mechanically how far the rotor is from the intended firing point. Say you want a range of 0-40 degrees BTDC, set the dizzy firing point to be at 20 degrees BTDC, and all should be fine.

The 1g dizzy is suitable to act as a CAS of sorts, when programed into your after market ECU. Alternatively you can get a 1ggze CAS and they slot right in and are alot slimmer!
