err, use 4K with an adptor and 4A gear...

about the only benefit would be being able to use a weaker diff, as you are less likely to break it

pretty much just out of convenience, i have a 4age lying around missing a bit of the efi stuff and it'd be fairly easy to slot it into my ke20.

there was a thread previously with pictures of the adaptor things made to fit a 4K dizzy in.
apart from that you need.. manifold and carbs...
should be cheap and easy as long as you have twin carbs lying around..

but without tuning the carbs and redoing dizy graph, you will prolly be well down on powah from EFI...

yeah im not overly fussed on a small downgrade in power. i dont really think a stock 4a will be amazingly fast, but i think it will be just nice to run around in than a 3k. ill take a look for the adaptor, cheers for that.

While I never got such a setup running, it seems like ignition is the only thing which needs some ingenuity. There are plenty of solutions, adaptor plates are shown in this thread.

You can also use MSD's 8981 timing control computer with a MSD 6A/6AL and your stock blue top (big port/TVIS) distributor...which will give you some adjustability in your timing curve.

yeah i found the thread last night, i gotta say its kinda disheartening when the only way to get it to run properly is using exxy msd gear. i'd rather just hook up the factory efi.
as for cheap options the 4k diz rigged up with 4ag gear seems like a fairly viable option.
altho its probably a easiest to go with what billzilla did using the ignitor.
ah well we'll see what eventuates from it.
but yeah thanks for your help guys

Well, you don't HAVE to use MSD components. If you don't care about a timing curve, you can use the blue top distributor with a GM HEI module and the timing locked out at 3X degrees. Cost on the module is about $35AUD.
