If I remember correctly, you need a backup latching device so just bonnet pins isn't good enough.
Don't know how that applies to a rear mounted engine cover though...
Actually... I'm not too sure about "All Bonnet Pins". Those Aerocatch do look nice.
BUt I vaguely remember that to road register, you need to be able to release the hood from within the cabine... hence, why "All bonnet pins" would be illegal, unless you could rig up a mechanisme that allowed you to release the Bonnet pins from within the cabin.
When refering to "Cabin" that means from the Drivers position...
None-the-less... this was about 5-6 years ago, I looked into it, as I wanted to fit the SC engine bonnet, and that is how I know this info. If this has changed or I have been mal-advised, please let me know.
MIKE.

Strange things are afoot at the circle K
I've never had any problems in heavy rain with mine, even though my wiring is a little 'sub-standard'Originally Posted by kassma
sounds like the main problem is the bonnet pins / latching it down issue.
Its a pain you have to get it engineered. If you're going NA, I really think the un-boxed tubes with sock filters is the way to go.
When I went to do the "change of engine number" at queensland transport I had un-boxed tubes with four bright-red airfilters - it looked quite unconventional, yet over at the pits, the guy was only interested in finding the engine number, and there was no question about it.
That was with the standard engine cover latching normally though.
My 14.7 has been achieved with and without the airbox on.
I'm keen to hear how yours goes with the C56 LSD
good to hear its up and running!

AFAIK, the bonnet requires a catch as well as a backup.
Hence the pull cord as well as the lever you have to uncatch under the front of the bonnet. (on a front engined vehicle).
Those aerocatches are legal as long as you retain a backup latching system. The ones that protrude are not legal because of the injuries that can be inflicted on pedestrians (because a 2 foot wall of fibreglass and steel is like cotton wool).
Arguably, the protruding ones won't cause a problem because they can't injure a pedestrian in an impact.
You'll have to scour the rules to be sure.
