Mine wasn't, it wasn't a kit either. They'd shipped it with some retarded firmware. Reflashed it with the current (current was like G and mine had H) and it worked perfectly.

incorrect AFRs from the wideband doesn't cover why the zorst is running uber hot?

fwiw: my innovate wideband would regularly reset itself if you tried to crank/start the car with a failing battery (or neglected to fix dodgy earths).

Hmm, I thought you orginally bought a kit.
Will have to get it looked in to.

    Update on this.

Had a dyno day the other weekend. I asked the guys to compare my o2 sensor with theirs, but unfortunately they didn't.
Anyway, on the dyno print out she sat at roughly 12:1, which for a full throttle run is much leaner than factory.
    http://www.conceptual.net.au/~peewee/v8supra/dyno.jpg

So today I had someone come over who also has a techedge wbo2 (same sensor, different controller) - (thanks Peter).
Put my sensor in his car, pretty much identical results to his.
Put my whole sensor/controller/display in his car, pretty much identical results to his.

So we've established that the o2 sensor IS reading correctly. And thus my car IS running lean (16.2:1 on the freeway).

    So... why?

Possible thoughts are injectors need a service (tested with spare set same result, but I'll get them serviced anyway), or major vacuum leak somewhere.

    Any other thoughts ?

I'm 99.9% sure I've got the right injectors for the ecu, but I'll get the ecu part number and check it out soon.

Who said 16.2:1 (freeway) is lean ????

A whole lot of nonsense about nothing.

The only other one I have is the one on the Celsior.
Worth a try yep, but doesn't explain why it had the same problem with the Delco ecu.

ok, to follow through on erols point (yes i too am a skeptic!)...

    you say its lean?
so what does that *mean* in terms of tuning, ie igni adv and tourque output?
are you just chasing the afr figure cause it doesnt sound right, or is there *actually* a problem? i havent read anything yet other than a whako number on the AFR gauge, and a hearty 12:1 power mixture (call me crazy but that sounds perfect?)

has this been on a dyno yet? (no, not a dyno day power run) a single hour could net you more information than weeks of assing about.

just curious to see what the actual *problem* is

If it was tuned for this I would be happy.

But its not, its a stock Toyota ecu running 100% stock everything.

Going by 5 years of watching other people it should be running ~14.5-14.9:1 at cruise, it should be running well under 12:1 at WOT (closer to 10:1 judging by my last 1UZ).

The car doesn't drive right. Very hard to explain exactly what its doing though.

And no, it hasn't been on the dyno yet, mainly because I can't find anywhere who wants me to pay them to put the car on the dyno for an hour. I've had excuses ranging from "we're solidly booked for the next 4 weeks" to "sorry but our screen is dead" (wtf?)

    chased all intake leaks yet?
and, chased any exhaust leaks before the O2 sensor?

    Not mine

Only goes under 12:1 in the last 500-1000rpm. 100% factory 1uzfe & ecu

20 year old fuel pump as well ? When was the last time the filter was changed ?

And Stu, yep I have checked for all leaks, couldn't find any, but will do another check soon. Its getting a new exhaust at the moment which will eliminate all potential exhaust leaks.
