    hey mate

7m runs a AFM so the only real way to put a pod filter on the engine proberly is to get an adaptor from somwehre like repco and bolt it over the end and checking it doesnt have a hole anywhere and then just puttin the pod over the end, its pretty easy but just watch it doesnt have any issues with RWC with the local whatever

id have a pic but i cant seem to find it but check the members rides area and check for anything in there

the Z20/A70 airbox is a wicked bit of kit.

if you want a real performance boost, cut the air feed out bigger, and fit a K&N filter.

they're awesome cause they're properly sealed and shielded from hot air

succesfully done i put a K&N filter on it sounds better (flutter noise) but no performance gain.

why would you get a performance gain?

youd get a performance LOSS from a pod from all the hot air.

stock filters are fucking awse, and you'd have to work hard to pick up noticable power from just an air filter change.

but in agreeance with eldar, do yourself a favor and get some sheet metal and bend up a decent CAI box for your pod to shield it from heat and introduce it with some ducting into the box

    Hi,

In some cases pod filters do give a small small gain, that of course depends if the stock air box is restrictive. In the 7m's case, the stock filters are fine. What EldarO mentioned is the best choice. Not only will you get better performance than an exposed pod filter, your less likely to get a defect, probably wont if it's boxed, but I don't know the rules too well.

So why do I see all the high power cars (500rwkw +) with exposed pod filters?
    Any reasoning behind this?

unless the filter is MAJORLY clogged, i went from 16km/L to 27 km/L when i changed the airfilter on my bike + butt dyno said there was improvement
