    Default 13T, 3T differences?

    Hi
I was wondering what the differences between the 3 T and 13 T engines are? All I can find is that there are different pollution controls? Does anyone know more about them?

If I have a 13 T how do I tell if it is the 13 T U or the 13 T ( TTC-V vs TTC-L.... not that I know what this means either!) I guess that there are a series of engine numbers which correspond to each? Anyone know the ranges?

I guess I can still use this block for a 3TG 2TG hybrid?

    Cheers
    Nathan

    Hi,

TTC was Toyota Total Clean or something like that, wasn't it?

An nice acronym for more anti-pollution controls I guess.

Hmm Well I have one of each here 3T and 13 T so might have to take them both apart and see if I cant spot the differences?.... Mmmmm pollution control should be of the form of pipes outside the engine right?

Maybe just a look is all that is needed? Now if I could just get to my old celica!!

If yr reboring then id use the 3T block , but if yr not boring it then use the block with less bore wear.

Different combustion chamber designs too, right? Something about a sub-chamber near the spark-plug.

So no one knows about the U? Whether it is a 13TU or just a 13T?
U for unleaded right? means hardened valve seats? or am I completely off track?
    Cheers

U is a Japanese emissions package, like C (4KC, 4AC etc) for California package.

The U often gets dropped on a lot of engines anyway, unless people are being specific, so it can make info hard to find
