7mgte power results (6 / 5mgte's welcome)

Hi all,

I'm ever wondering what a good amount of power from 7mgte is.

You may of seen my mx73 advertised. It has a very clean 7mgte and with stock setup (plus open exhaust and air filter) everything else is stock and produces 180kw@rw with only 6-8psi.

I reckon this is a very healthy outcome.

I want to know what other people are getting from there 7/6/5mgte's with stock setup and also to see what people have done to get good (bang for buck) results. Please state if your car is auto or man.

reason I'm putting this post up is cause I'm about to build an engine for a ms55 crown. (Not interested in people making comments about 1u/1j/2j's etc). The crown is going to be auto so this will make a difference to the wheel KW to the mx73 just keen on seeing what other people have done or have got from their 7mgte's.

For the build I currently have.

7mgte motor / bits.
hi flow ct26
7MGE cam's
Stock 7mgte man ECU / EFI comp and wiring.
Cometic HG
ARP head studs

Things I plan to add:

3inch dump with seperate WG dump.
nice FMIC
Lexus AFM
larger injectors
boost (maybe 15psi)
SAFC
something to control the Ignition timing
Maybe! an ebay turbo manifold.
Maybe! a forward facing throttle body (for looks and ease of IC plumbing)

I also have a 6mge which I'm toying of the idea of chucking that in with the 7mgte ECU and turbo bits. Only thinking about that cause it's complete... could always make frankenstein setup.

please give proven results, not speculative ones.

hey mate

180rwkw for your level of stuff sounds pretty good...

in the dyno results folder check out the "m series" motors thread for a few good 7ms...

about 3 years ago before I started building up my 7M it made 160rwkws at 7psi threw an auto so 180 sounds pretty good (taking into consideration its a manual)..

Hopefully next time its on the dyno I will see double that figure
