Wasn't there a safety rail between the running surface & the carpark?
I'm tempted to keep the starlet for these motorkhana style events but the rate it takes me to get stuff done I'd be ready for toynats 2020.
Maybe there's a cheaper, easier way to get it finished that I can think of after I buy a house.
It did look like a barell of funs the khana, in any car.

Yes... But people were standing just at the safety rail which was low, so they could still have been 'contacted' had he collected it, or say the rear tray went over the barrier for example.Originally Posted by wagonist
Wouldn't need to move them back much, just 1-2m.
And not the whole way along, just in the spots like that where the cars are likely to come 'close' in a lose (such as the spin points in double hat)

Aren't we having the drags back next year which is a moot point because the location for the Khana will be completely different & not allow for 2 courses to be run simultaneously as you'll have the bowl at the end for the khana & the rest of the course as staging lane/drag strip.
Barriers at the strip will just be physical distance marked off from the asphalt as it doesn't have a gutter/rail at all as its an airport.![]()
If in doubt power out
^^^ Dunno if this is the case but the end of the drag strip need the gate was pretty good hotmix from memory and well wide enough to run at least one course.
Having both at the same venue would be cool so you could run from one to the other.
If you ran a x2 attempts format but only used thwe quickest time co-ordination would be less of an issue as mssing a run while you were stuck at the drags wouldn't be such a drama?
I for one would be keen to run at both events? Tricky logistics though?

Only part of the Wellington airstrip that is hotmix is the drag strip, everything else is just bitumen.
Are drags a definate for next year? The main reason they were canned is because the wellington mayor decided she didn't like 'hoons' so put the hire rate up some silly amount to discourage it...

Dave mentioned he had spoken with the Mayor and there were no issues....perhaps the fee wasn't mentioned?Originally Posted by Roundy

Anyone have an idea how much money is spent in dubbo over the weekend by drunken Toyota Owners. Perhaps Dave was able to persuade the Mayor that us coming every year was a good thing for the town.Originally Posted by JustenGT8

we believe there was a falling out between the dubbo city car club and the council....
probably an ego thing. I think that may hav been resolved hence the change.

The locations / running order of events is under review. I'm sure the nationals organisers will endeavour to provide the best possible compromise for everyone. However if the khana venue changes, obviously these arrangements are likely to change.Originally Posted by RONA

Considering the funding that the Council put up for hire of the cattleyard, I think that's already a known fact.Originally Posted by RONA
