I hope this years toyfest is back to it's best as I and Chubbs both had a ball last year.

Might sound silly but is it possible to have a Khana during Toyfest at maybe Eastern Creek????? I know Drags are on around that time too.. but can we??
Our excuse this year for not attending is that we're low on the dorrars![]()

I think it was in the high 70s, low 80s last year compared to 90s the years before.Originally Posted by YLD-16L
Toyfest was (imho) a pretty good turnout considering the weather was at best an "uncertain" (hell, I even bothered to wash my car for it!).
Unfortunately I wasn't at Dubbo due to a few lame excuses, but what I'm seeing at wakefield days (not official, I know, but still good club representation), as well as the most recent pac hwy cruise, are certainly encouraging signs

* Cost, EC Skidpan is like $2000-$3000 for a day to hire so entry cost per car you are looking at close to $100 depending on numbers.
If in doubt power out
yeah there were heaps of cars at fest, (god damn both Fonzie and Waynes Ma61 were so bone-worthy.. *drools*)
The only thing that wasn't at fest that I liked from nats (besides the group stay at the 'Tilda) is the khana, but i understand how much organising goes into that. (thanks!) and could understand if it was totally implausible to have a khana included in the fest somehow.

Yeah Toyfest has always had more cars than any of the Nationals I've been to but that is really due to the location and lack of need to commit a whole long weekend to attending if you don't want to.Originally Posted by tomvale13
The upside for the nationals in my opinion is that it is all weekend and everyone stays in the same place so there is plenty of time for social interaction and bullshit. Then there is a driving event which makes for a lot of fun and then a cruise home with mates. It's a good concept and I am always happy to see it do well.
That's true Rona, but the Essay guys run it over in Dubbo... why can't a CAMS affiliated body run it for TMs... ??
(I say this like it is that simple)
I'm just saying it would be rad to have a khana included during ToyFest. That's all.

I have a feeling if drags and khana and show/shine and dyno are on next year it will pull more numbers as that format appeals to a damn wide audience.
Economically things may have settled down somewhat by then and give people more confidence to spend - bold prediction though at this stage.![]()

The MR2 club is CAMS affialted, but have no experience in hosting a timed event.
A driving event for Toyfest is certainly something we'd love to do in the future. It is something that was high on the list of priorities when we were first planning to run an annual show but the logistics and cost of getting a venue in or close to Sydney on a long weekend made it too prohibitive at the time.
Maybe a seperate thread for the Toyfest discussion would be best rather than having it muddy the waters of the Nationals thread.
[QUOTE=Joshstix] Unfortunately we don't have the surfeit of government jobs to add stability to things that Canberra does.

I'll think you'll find there are more public servants in NSW than Canberra...me included![]()
