There are some people that have tried/are trying with the 1MZ engine but I think it requres some slight grinding of the webbing on the blok to fit the transaxel

yes, yes and yes....but not easily. The transfer case fouls and takes quite a bit of work to clearance. Would make your 185 a lead tipped arrow though, better to use a 1MZ if trying to keep the AWD.

    yep sure does........

my mate in the states in currently in the process of AWD a 184..... and has completed fitting the alltrac tranny to his 3vzfe.......

will ask him for permision to post up some if the pics he took of what he had to do to get the clearance needed for it to bolt together...........

    on a side note..........hahaha

my celica is now back at home.........

was a 150km trip with lots of things happening......
    rad hose blew off.....
got a major power drain from somewhere, so pretty much ran whole trip[ running on a flat battery and alternator...... NEEDS to be sorted asap....

pretty sure i got BHG now....... but time will tell.......

now i still got a long way to go ... but celica is back at home where i can tinker with it everyday, while family is happier that i am there with them instead of down the coast at my mates place....lmao

next on the to do list......
sort out power drain and thermostat housing to stop hose blowing off......

    ok.....

well starting gearbox conversion this week.........

stock box didnt last as long as id hoped..lol.... but nevermind..

chang will be for the better as i wont have to baby it around anymore....
so i can finally open it up and get it dyno'd to dee exactly how much HP i got and to see if stock 2.2ltr fuel pump is up to the task......

keep tuned.... more updates to come.....

    nah guys.... box aint broke....

but i seriously doubt it will last too much longer....

in the 200km it has driven....

i got serious whine in 2nd gear..
synchro's getting really sticky and not letting me select 3rd....
thrust bearing has given up the ghost and making a hell of a racket....

so yes not in real good shape....

yes the n/a engine.... .but stock celica box...

and upgrading to the tranny that i got with the 1/2 cut....
    5 sp e53....

at least know i wont have to baby it around...and once new box is in i can get it dyno'd to see exactly what power i got .......

    things i need for conversion...

1 celica front gearbox mount... ( which i already got)
    1 gt4 top gearbox mount
    1 mr2 mount for rear
    camry inner cv's
    gt4 outer cv's
    gt4 hubs
    gt4 struts....

    ok well long deserved update....

gearbox swap is getting very close to happening.....

    items i have...
1 x gt4 top passenger side gearbox mount
    1 x gt4 rear crossmember mount...
    1 x gt4 gear selector bracket
now both of these fit to the e53 tranny..... my only issue that i have been informed of is that i may need to use a gt4 crossmember as the gt2 boys do when they run the e153 tranny, or a cut down gt4 tranny....

so... i have one lined up just gotta get it....

only thing i seriously need is gt4 gear selector cables......

i have been informed by gt2 owner that i do not need to change hubs etc to gt4 for the driveshafts..... they will fit to my current hubs.... whoop. thats welcome knowledge and thanks....lol.....

so whilst gearbox's are being swapped, i will be doing rear oil seal, and then all i need to source to get celica running with new gearbox is the driveshafts.....

    more updates to come....

ok so got bored today so thought id do something with the celica while my kids were playing and the wife was studying........

So i started on the airpod filter... and boxing it off to make it legal....... photos are of first process.........

makeing cardboard walls then fibreglass a base.......... still lots to go but you will get the idea........

and just an updated pic of the celica as it was when i got it off the delivery truck...lol.....just cause i can.....lol
