I think CPTSIDEWAYS is referring to the secondary layer of deadener on the firewall (aka. front bulkhead). It's hiding behind a very thin layer of pressed aluminium, worth removing for sure.

ive gotten an a70 down to 1180kg with full tank (20 ltrs) and no roll cage... so soarer should be fair bit lighter

im aware of the bulk head being double skin and full off insulations/deadner but doesnt look like an easy thing to remove - certainly not ally panel like in a supra

It was some time ago when I did mine so can't remember all the detail. I wouldn't attempt it with the dash in place.

So it is on the firewall, in the cabin under a layer of pressed aluminium?

Looking at gutting my soarer and only want to do it once and do it right, this sounds like an area i want to get to the first time around.

Take the bonnet and guards and doors off and weigh them before guessing that carbon or glass fiber will get you down to the weight you want. Maybe its simply not possible? Dont worry, thats why we have sprintarooos!

My car is now down to 1210kg fuelled up with a cage & two (heavy) race seats, 30l of fuel in a bagged race tank.

The front bulkhead/firewall has a secondary firewall, its only ally but there is quite a bit of sound deadening amongst it. You will need to remove the dash & heater unit to get to it.

The rear subframe mounts are also really heavy, these can be deleted to reduce ride height but retain geometry my subframe is now welded to the chassis. Saved about 25kg in all & reduces ride height by about 25mm

Did anyone end up doing this? Got any pics of what was involved?

Would it affect the strength/stiffening of things much?
I used to eat alot of natural foods. That was until I learned that most people died of natural causes.
