Call 'Motor Repair & Welding' (I think that's the name) at Marrickville. I think they will do the axles and might do the centres.
It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could share contact details of engineering services for Diffs in the Sydney area to carry out any of the following.
1. Change and modify diff centres
2. Shorten and respline axels and housing.
3. Upgrade brakes to disc
Experience with G series diffs would be preferred and positive testimonials would be helpful.
Thanks.

What exactly do you need done?
I can get axles resplined,
Changing diff centres = easy
Upgrading to discs? depends what you want and how much you want to spend. i have 4piston calipers on 300mm discs on my F series.
Played with many G series.

Whereas the later G series diffs are too wide but the LSD centres seem to fit without as many hassles.
I wanted to find out pricing and advice from engineers for the various modifications to help with what path I should take. I'm still not convinced that the old G series (1410mm wide) will not need shortening to replace the T series 1370mm wide assembly especially after upgrading the brakes to disc and when fitting wider than normal tyres. Therefore if resizing is needed on the early G series why not go for a later series diff? From what I have read there doesn't seem to be any logical process whether doing it on the cheap or going all out. I wouldn't take anything smaller than 300mm dics with 4 spot calpiers for a 200rwkw, 1100kg TA22.

a fool remains undescovered untill he speaks!
as far as diff width is concerned you would be better off doing it the smart way and find the wheels you want first then have everything setup to suit.
heaps better than building everything only to find you either need spacers or the wheels you want wont fit under the guards.
any housing can be built to the correct size, its finding axles that work with your application that is the hardest part.

1jzracing - thanks mate.
axles can be shortened and resplined but some axles won't let you shorten them much ie sometimes you can shorten them by 15mm and you wont need a respline but due to the way they are necked down and knurled to shorten them any further you will have to shorten them by a minimum of 65-70mm to ensure that you have the correct spline engagement.
i have at times had to set the housings up offset with 1 std length axle and 1 shortened axle to achieve what was needed with the diff length, ie Fseries torago diff in a 22 needs the P/S shortened 65mm or so to get the correct width but then you run into other minor inconveniences.

PS if you search thru Conversions and T&C 90% of this has been covered many times.
