after fucking around with it for ages, i got it off and cleaned the shit out of it, put it back on and no change. it used to idle fine so there must be power there.

there has never been a pipe on the "outlet" pipe of the ISCV, so can i put a pipe on there and block it off/kink the hose untill i get some kind of good idle and leave it? this is a pain in the ass! and i just want to do something and forget about it

how can i check its got power? i cant really hear anything once the engine has started because of all the whooooshing noise comming from it

You can check for power on the plug that goes to it... the two center pins should have power.

While it was out it would have been a good time to test the ISCV! See TSRM for MA70, tis close enough for JZ

okay on the weekend ill pull it back off and test the plug for voltage, will the ign have to be "ON"?

also is it needed to have anything connected to the air inlet pipe?

pitty its all underneath the plenum and right next to the strut tower, what a bastard of spot to put it

Yes, ignition ON (it isn't powered all the time... It should be set to be powered from the switched power from the Main EFI relay, which is triggered by the engine ECU M-REL pin)...

Soaked it in WD40 for a few hours too, still wont budge.

Short of hitting the thing with a hammer, is there any way to pull it apart?
exactly the same problem as mine

**is there any problem with blocking the iscv off and winding the idle screw to adjust idle?

Any more load on the alternator (eg head lights)/switching on the air cond will drop the idle, and nothing will be there to compensate for it. Thats the problem I have with no ISCV. That and cold starts are tougher without the ISCV.

An air filter is a useful device (pending wether you like your engine or not). and if the diaphram (one way valve) is missing or stuffed it will leak boost unless its plumbed into the pipe from I/C to T/B. other than that you should be all good.

okay took the ISCV off, the plug has voltage ( test light ), also i put 12v from the battery to the middle and grounded the outside pins and nothing happens AT all, not a click or anything

so im buying a known working one from a guy on here and hope that fixes the problem
