Gday Guys/Gals!!!
I was just taking the Levin for a drive to the paintball field today and the car was feeling really wierd in the handling department. Yesterday on the way too and on the way home from work, the hard setting was fine and the rebound minimal.
But today, every single dip in the road and every single pothole that I hit and the whole car was bouncing everywhere like it was on a spring. The TEMS "Auto/Sport" button was working and clicking over to each setting, but the suspension was STILL handling like a boat in the ocean. There is a clicking sound coming from the right/hand rear shocker when I press the "Auto/Sport" button aswell.
A couple of questions:
- Has anybody had this problem before??
- If so, what did you do to fix it? (Fuse problem, Faulty Shocker)
- Did you have to replace anything?
- I searched the forums, and someone saw something about the TEMS actuator. Is this actuator "one item" per shocker? Or is there one juction box that controls the lot?
Any help would be appreciated people, but I would like to see if I can find the problem first before replacing all shockers with aftermarket items.
Thanks, and I hope to hear from some of you soon!!
Regards, Ben.
I dont know a lot about these systems, but I would guess that there is a motor on top of each shock to turn a shaft to make the shock stiffer or softer (usually have three or four positions from soft to hard)
Some 80s Mazdas had the same set up. I would guess that one of the motors is not working and they are set on soft. It may be possible to remove the motor and manually set them to the position that you desire.
