For simplicity I would generally stick to single turbo. There are both factory and aftermarket manifolds somewhat readily available for the single turbo, and there is a lot less mucking around with pipes etc...
You hav'nt mentioned anything of your plans i.e. street/track/drags or all of the above, so I will jump up on my street soapbox![]()
I prefer to go on the smaller side of the turbo range for a combo which is going to spend most time on the street. Keeping turbo size down and using a fairly mild turbo cam profile (plus good tuning) will minimize lag giving a more enjoyable driving experience.
There's absolutely NO point trying to tell some Hyundai driver that you would whip him over a full quater mile when he's thrashed you between lights... just do it!![]()
If the engine is genuinly in good stock condition then I would personally:
Fit a good intercooler and keep the boost to around 14psi or so.
Spend a few dollars replacing the fuel pumps, filters, and injectors.
Have that ancient wiring harness remanufacured.
Chase down a turbo the size of a t25g garrett (sorry not too sure on Toyota sizes).
Install your choice of aftermarket ecu and invest in a good tune.
My 2cents worth of what would be done if it were mine!
Cheers
