1JZ Supercharged?

I'm with norbie here... it will work out cheaper to mount a 2j or 1uz (or even ls1) than it will to work out supercharging a little 2.5 for low end grunt (especially since y ou'll want a twin screw supercharger, which on its own is most of a 1uz).

vvti 1j is a bit of a torque monster down low (for a 2.5)... but again, 2jz/1uz are similarly priced

edit: especially since you're looking to be an auto anyway, 1uz is an attractive option (no mucking around with manual conversion like many1uz conversions)

if 1UZ will fit.. sell 1jayzee, buy 1UZ and fit.

1UZ torque is about the same as a 1jayzeee with 9 or 10psi of boost, but it has it all the time.
1UZ with 9psi boost is same as 1jay zee with 24psi boost..... i know which would be nicer

regarding LS1..
1UZ has abotu 400Nm stock from 4L (vvt)
LS1 has 446 to 460Nm stock

if you can do easy mods to the LS1 to get an extra 25% torque then it might be a good thing... but a 1UZ with 2-3psi boost is same as the 5.7L LS1....
