it's rooted.
why woyuld you put in a gearbox that was rooted? didn't you check it before you put it in?
why did you swap out the gearbox that had been used with the engine for 1000km?
why do your threads make no sense?
maybe you should stop worrying abotu cars and study for your HSC.

pull the shifter out and move all the shift plates around with a screw driver so that they line up properly, then put the shifter back in and all will be sweet. As said above it is probably engaging more than one gear. Just have a fiddle and you should find the right spot for the shifter, thats what i did anyway.

I take it you have experienced Cobs last few threads that went forever and round in circles due to BASIC things not being checked?
I also assume wa5, that you got another PM from the OP asking you to help on these basic things?
what? you mean people don't PM you all the time asking you to help in threads? you should try it sometime

if you read the first post, he says the engine has done 1000km, and now he has put in new gearbox (and engine??) and now there is a problem.
that means, in a freekin nutshell, that either the gearbox is fucked, or that he didn7t install it correctly.
going by the past marathon threads, i would assume that he either didn't check the gearbox before it went in, and it is fucked, or he installed it incorrectly.
to give him the BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT, i asked if he checked the box before he put it in..
i asked why he swapped out the previous(1000km) gearbox.
sure the "threads make no sense" is a cheapshot... but the original post does not make much sense
and YES, he SHOULD BE STUDYING FOR HSC instead of fucking abotu with cars, trying to make the do wheelstands, and installing things incorrectly. i think, for him, studying for the HSC will give him much more benefit for the rest of his life than having a gearbox that works.....
IN THE END, i shouldn't have given him the benefit of my doubt, and i should have just told him it was installed incorrectly.... which was the case.....
as for gearbox, a gearbox, unless it is A) BROKEN, or B) INSTALLED INCORRECTLY, ..... CANNOT be in two gears at once. there is no physical way, unless the lockout pins/spring have been removed or the spring is borked, OR, he installed the shifter incorrectly...

i only posted because he ASKED ME FOR HELP again.....
