    Default 1UZ-FE into RN90 HILUX 2WD

Hi all,i'm fairly new to this but i can't find anywhere that advises on the best sump for this conversion, to my knowledge there is front, mid and rear sumps. I have been told by someone who's done a 1JZ install that the rear sump is the way to go but looking at the chassis and where the sway bar sits it looks to me that front is better. Front sump engines are a lot more common than rear sumps in Brisbane anyway so another thing i wondered is there anyone out there with a rear sump and pick-up that wants a front, I havent bought the half-cut yet but have got my eye on two Celsior cuts. Any advice on anything involved in this conversion would be greatly appreciated, I'am also doin the BA FALC/R33caliper front brake upgrade and have collected all the necessary hardware so will be done very soon. THANX in advance.

the easiest sump for the job is a UZZ3# series sump (soarer),
they are a rear sump and wont need to be cut to get around the draglink,

the only drama you may have is with the factory swaybar but its fairly common to just space them down accordingly.

Done this exact swap twice now, and used front sump Celsior or Crown motor.

With CRS engine mounts the "drag link" or "steering arm" does foul on the sump, but only just. With 19" wheels on you can't turn lock to lock anyway.

You will need to make up spacers to go under the sway bar mounts.

And the handbrake cable housing just touches on the head cover, but there is another model hilux that has the housing on the inside of the cab, straight swap.

    All minor little things

Thanx for the info mate,i actually got mine from a 4runner and worked out the hard way that the lefthand side footrest mounts are not screws with a funky cap on them they're actually these long single use plug things that don't like to come out so anyone cruisin wrecking yards for such a setup should be aware that the thin steel bracket that holds it to the floor is easier to break off donor vehicle than get them dam things out, and if you do work them out they'll be rooted anyway,Toyota does sell them as genuine parts{not cheap}. You do need the footrest though as the cable is held in place by it just before it goes thru the floor. Hope this helps someone.
