    Default 1JZ belt problem

    hey guys.

on my 1JZ in my MX83 im not running Air con so i have removed the pump.
but now the belt is to long.
anyone removed it and found a belt that actually is smaller and fits?
been to repco etc and they dont have anything suitable.

anyone have a part number for a shorter belt? or a size?

may just have to put pump back on to take up the slack. dont wanna thoug .... lighter and neater with out it lol.

    any help much appreciated!

    cheers

try this, get a piece of string and measure how long the belt needs to be, look in catalogue of gates or dayco for that length.

should be able to find something near the right size.

Yep 6PK1875 is the belt to use. Mine cost just under $50 from Repco, price seemed a bit high?

Does anyone know if the same belt will work on a 2JZ sans aircon?

Aren't there a few different sizes of pulleys depending on what the engine was out of?
I needed a air con compressor for my 2JZ and not every 1JZ had the same size pulley...
The tensioner might be able to take up the difference but it's not that hard to measure it yourself...

I have three AC pulleys, and two PS pulleys, two alts and four WP pulleys, all are the same size. Off 1JZ-GTEs, 2JZ-GTEs and 2JZ-GEs.

So are you saying there aren't different sizes? or just that you haven't come accross it?
IIRC JZX90 has slightly larger pulleys.

If they are different sizes, i havnt come across it, and i have a fair cross section of the population hanging around my garage.

The pulley on my Aristo hydro water pump was a different diameter to the Supra water pump I replaced it with, but it wasn't a big difference - the same belt still fit OK.
