No reverse is a mechanical fault with the auto , pull all the plugs from the auto then check .

Hello the trouble with the car is that i have a new auto tranny and when i put in reverse nothing happen. And this is a new gearbox so it can be broken. Because i have one new and one thats renovated. And both have the same problem. And this is an 2jz-gte aristo engine and gearbox.
So where can i find this problem? What can it be?
Have any of the electrical parts something with this to do?
Can it be a wiring problem when it's in a soarer with an aristo engine?
Everything is from aristo the ecu and the auto tranny and the engine.
Hope any one can help because i have no more idea's because
I know it's not mechanical problem any more. But where can i start searching?

So if i pull all the plugs to the Auto gearbox it will go backwards? Because it have a fast forward going but don't shift gears. And the new gearbox have been driven some day ago but now it's not going reverse. The other one of my gearbox is new repaired. And it have the same prob. Last we tried it did go 2mm from P then it did go reverse a second before it stop.
So it will go in reverse if i pull every plugg? I don't understand if this one did break because this gearbox came from a car that didn't have any problem. And the other one of my gearboxes with same problem have been to a mechanic. The odd situation was that with on gearbox when you came 2mm from P it did go reverse a second.
How mutch oil shall be in the torque converter when you put it in? Can it be to mutch oil from the start? Shall the torque converter be filled to the topp? And do you have any good tips to give when you put that one in?
Check the shifter is lined up correctly?
Must.... avoid.... urge... to... upgrade... parts I haven't.... used.... yet.....
You are checking the Auto transmission oil level with the engine running and in N or P right?

Yesterday we did get it in reverse when we done like you say to unplugg the big cabel to Auto gearbox. So now it did go in reverse. Yeeeah!!!But now is the problem why do it do this? The big cabel is for the solenoid. And is it then the computer that say to the solenoid to shut down? And can i just cut the solenoid cabel to reverse so will it work?
And what colour is the solenoid cabels to R and witch solenoid number is it?
And thanks for all the answer. Can say you peapol here have been my angels.![]()
Sounds like you need to get the wiring correct
And chopping it isn't correct.
It sounds to me like you haven't connected up the position indicator wires from the gearbox to the ECU.
I.e. from the big JZS147 Body Plug you need to hook R, 2 and L up to the engine ECU.
You prbly also want to hook up NSW correctly too...

Thanks for thatAnyone now why the rpm don't show on the display? The speed is correct but no signal to rpm.

It is likely that you need a tacho booster (do a search).

Tacho signal hmm. I don't know reallyThe soarer that i have is a 1jz-gte modell from 91 some more you want to know?
And thanks for all the info.
Your the best

Wiring isn't your forte I'm guessing?
Yes tacho signal, the igniter sends a signal to the dash so it knows how fast the engine is spinning
This post should help... to some extent

1jzgte and 2jzgte have the same igniter so you wont need a tacho booster. You simply need to connect the IG- (Tacho) output from the 2jzgte igniter to the where the same pin previously went on the jzz30 body side loom.

Haha Yeah your right im not god at anything of this but im learning my self with my team. You know here in finland we don't have any other 2jz-gte swap
So i will be the first so this is quite new for everyone. So to use the Aristo engine was something that we don't know so mutch about
So thanks to you this is little easier
And all the ones that are here
