Default 4A - W* Bellhousings AVAILABLE from ToyCool Garage (Phillipines)

    Hi all,
Just thought I'd post up some info that i found out about 4A to W* bellhousings.

They're available from a place called Castlemaine Rod Shop in Victoria, who make a kit.
I was recommended to them by a mechanic who does heaps of custom work, and he said they're one of the best in the business!
    www.rodshop.com.au
Cost me $598 delivered to my door (sydney), with all bolts, bearings & dust cover.
When i fit it to my 4agte & w58, I'll post up some pics to show.

    Cheers,
    Mark M

Edit: $380 shipped from Rhett Del Rosario @ Toycool Garage (Phillipines) seamed like a better option....
Not to take anything away from the high standard of work down at Castlemaine Rodshop, but money talks...

you might want to change the title to "bellhousing adaptor plates" as opposed to bellhousings.... there is a difference..
    http://www.rodshop.com.au/newprod4.htm

funnily enough, people have made bellhousing adaptor plates in the past, without the need for "special" parts... just mix n match

will be interesting to see if the quality is above that from dellow

HAHAHA dellows...I've been guaranteed better than dellows, way better..
If you read it properly it's actually a Modified bellhousing WITH adaptor plate.
I beleive it uses 4age flywheel tho, not the bigger gze ones...
anyway, I'm keen to get it and see how it goes..

    ...what a crack up....dellows....HAHAHA

yah, you often need to mill a bit off the front and/or back of the bellhousing, to put the input shaft into the spigot bearing.. nothing special

hmm, bigger flywheel woudl be good, but.. a twinplate on the little one might be ok

Kaizen Garage were selling new manufactured bellhousings(not dellow) recently: [email protected]

Not sure if they have any left though?

I used to buy some stuff of Rod years ago for my EH! Some stuff was ok, some was pretty poor quality(ie. bolt holes werent where they were supposed to be etc). But like I said, that was years ago - things may have changed.

Gday champ, thanks for the input.
Yeah, i think Rod sold the shop a few years ago, it's under new ownership as far as i know.
The kit is all dowelled, so that it lines up easily, and also for strength..
Kaizen aye? might check it out anyway.

    Cheers,
    Mark M

Rhett (ToyCoolGarage) from the Phillipines sells custom bellhousings for about half the price. Pretty good quality, and very light weight. Check the build up blog link in my signature for pictures. The GZE flywheel wont fit without modification, but thats no different than the one above.

He sells them for $275 (USD) new.

What flywheel are you using on yours?
Sorry so many questions, but for that price i have to take the opportunity to get your feedback since you have one.

Still haven't bought the W58, 7MGE clutch fork, nor custom clutch, so no full fitment experience just yet. But I mounted it to the block along with my 212mm 7A lightweight flywheel and it fits great so far. .

But since he's been making these housings for a couple years now and there are more than a handful of us who have them, I think it should all work out just fine.
