T3 aren't grub screwed like some of the cheap ones that screw up against the threaded sleeve. The screw clamps the threaded spring seat together to make it too hard to turn. Hard to describe, threaded spring seat is like a circle with a slit in it, the screw joins the two sides of the slit and pulls it together.

Yeah I understand how it works. I just wasnt sure if it was an accepted method of locking the spring perch, but I also didnt realise it works in conjunction with the squared sleeve thread to lock off the perch.

I cant seem to fault the Ground Control/T3 sleeve kit now. I cant seem to find any negative reviews about them or reported problems, I'm starting to think they might be the way to go - as mentioned the price is hard to believe compared to others. I have no doubt the P.A.S.S kit is superior, but as long as there are no issues with T3/GC kit its hard to go past that price!

Very similar system as that used by KTM on their dirtbikes (which are adr approved i might add). Granted the suspension on the bike doesn't turn, but nor should your spring turn independantly of the strut tube. Make sure you use a bearing type top spring hat.

FWIW, I checked that these would pass engineering here in Vic and engineer is happy with the design of them.

One more question guys - I need to specify free height of the front springs I'm ordering with the sleeve kit. So far I have suggestions of 8" and 10". I'm thinking maybe somewhere in between?

This is for a starting point, spring rate will be 7kg as AFAIK its the softest I can get with the sleeve kit. Will be prepared to experiment with different springs once its set-up.

What stroke of shocks are you going to use?
    I generally go max stroke+25-40mm.

At the moment I'm planning on going with the Koni 8611-1259 inserts.

    According to the spec sheet:

    153mm stroke
    Max length 540mm
    Min Length 387mm

    So (153mm + 40mm = 193mm) = ~7.6inches

I think the 8 inch spring should be fine.

My second option are the Tokico HTS102's which I dont have the specs on. But Gabe at T3 says they mainly use an 8inch spring with their sleeve kit and they mostly use TRD or Tokico inserts by the sounds of it, so I'll assume the length will suit the Tokico's as well.

    Cheers for the info

Yeah, i use an 8" spring on the HTS102s.

8" spring means that 50mm will overlap at max stroke (i.e. no droop), which should be about right. I would hope that there is 4" or more adjustment in the strut tubes though.

153mm might sound ok, but remember youll have a bumpstop in there too, and then possibly more off depending on spring top hat design.
Dont be surprised if you only end up with ~60mm bump suspension travel.

Think about it carefully (like i didnt ).

Thats the TokicoHTS102s, i have about 80mm of bump suspension travel. No bumpstops, springs bind before it gets that far.
