MX32 Info - Help - What to look for - ?

Hey guyz

Wanting some info on a (last year they were made) 1980 MX32 which has a 4M-e and has probably done 2000kms since rebuild.... Feb this year


The old mechanic guy wants $2.5k for it, so either it really is in good nik or hes a fucking dreamer...


Anyway, there is FUCKALL info on the net, not even on wiki or toyota cressida or anywhere on these

i thought toymods might know ...

1 do these have IRS ?
2 where are the usual rust spots ?
3 if the 4M-e is rebuilt is it a quiality motor or does it suffer the same fate as most 5m and 7m motors ... BHG ?
4 do all MX32 models have elec windows and aircon and etc etc

1) No, they are E series live axle

2) Everywhere The usual, under doors, rear of front guards, rear quarters, etc

3) 4M-E is an average motor... Plan to bin it as soon as possible

4) AC prbly most likely, not sure about power windows...

I'm 100% certain that the AUD MX32 is E series live axle.

I can be honest and say that I'm not sure of all the JDM / etc model that were released, but there was things like the MX42? which were IRS...

MX62 was E series live axle as well... you think that they gave us IRS in the MX32 and then took it away when the MX62 came out?

MX32 will be a carbed 4M by the way.

If you import an MX41 however, you get all the fruit. M-EU, IRS F series, 4 wheel disc brakes, AC, power tampon remover, you name it, it'll have it.

the 1980 MX32 is said to be powered by 4M-e - single point injection ??

is this not correct?

I didn't think any 4Ms were injected in the Aussie market. The 30/40 series 4M Cressidas/Chassers were carbed even in Japan. I'd defer to Cambelt or Crownman to be 100% certain. My recollection is the first injected M series here in Aus was the 5ME and you got that in the 110 series Crown and 60 series Cressida.

MA46 (first gen Supra) had 4ME.

Of course, you could get an M-EU in an MX13 in Japan in 1974.

Incidentally, is anyone aware of a 30 series wagon anywhere?

No EFI for the 4M here except the MA46 .

Yep, was going to say that the 4M-E was an upgrade/ not factory

Its multipoint injection btw, very primitive tho
