Default Wanted: 20V 4age expert!! QLD

I have a kit car that just had an engine conversion done. The installers did the best they could and then gave it to a auto elec to figure out the rest. Problem is that it wont start and when it does it only runs on a couple of cyl's but usually it wont start at all
I live on the Sunshine Coast if anyone knows anyone that is very good with 20V ecu and wiring that would be great - Cash paid

i know my way around 20v wiring have done it from scratch once and that was easy enough, is this factory setup with afm and dizzy? could be shagged ecu or afm or any of a number of things, best way to see whats what, check if you are getting power to the injectors while cranking, if so then you have fuel, should have air, so it could be spark related, however you could also be getting too much air. some pics of inlet manifold could be helpful,

Give Anthony at Kaizen Garage a call. He did a great job on my 20V convo into a previously 6A-FC'd car. I think he operates from behind Alljap at Virginia.

Is he not mobile now? Ant came to my house and wired my 20V in my front yard over a period of 3 days, and I know he has done the same thing in Sydney FIFO.
He can be difficult to organise but he knows corolla wiring inside out.

Or else get onto Sideshow on these forums. Another true expert and can be mobile.

I'd suggest familiarising yourself with the wiring diagram for that specific motor, then undo the dodgy work done so far and re-do it yourself.

Given that it's a non-runner, any quick fix is going to be just that - a kludge.

O, if you're not so keen on DIY, put a post up on the NDSCC forum and try to find a local toyota rally nerd who knows 4AGE's?

Is there a forum for clubman owners? Surely there's a clubbie nearby with the same/similar engine?

Maybe the cooloola car club folks have someone who could help?

The forum for Clubbie owners is http://www.oz-clubbies.com/forums/

I think there are 8-9 of us clubbies here on the coast - I don't think any are silvertops though. I'm fitting one to mine right now (though with a Haltech), but only have a blacktop manual

Well we spent a few hours on it today
It seems to be whatever is controlling the injectors is having a fit, one time it wont start, the next its on 2 cyl, the next it will run, but will keep dying, and when it does actually run and you try and keep a constant throttle it will die and then pickup again and do that until it completely dies
    Its a wierd problem,,,,
Fuel pressure is a constant 30psi or there abouts, changed spark plugs, check dizzy even took all the fuel out and put new fuel in etc
Anyone else ever had that kind of problem

does the tacho match engine revs?

maybe the sensor(s) in the dizzi or (more likely the) wiring between the dizzi and the ECU is suspect

Also, fuel pressure should be 38psi with pump on and motor not running

Well i've crimped the return line and got 38psi and it made no difference
The Tacho works fine, and its not a spark related problem, its like the injectors are freaking out

Are the injectors a known quantity? ie cleaned and tested?
