yes its functioning correct, but its less than ideal and UNNECESSARY like a lot of things on the ecu like rich mixtures and sedate ignition timing. Just something you can improve on if need be and this guy is looking to improve on it, not be told its normal and leave it alone.

That's due to the revs, not the amount of fuel. Yes it's rich, but that's the built-up carbon in the exhaust getting blown out with the condensation.

I'll admit the rich mixtures and sedate ignition timing are there. They're to provide a safety barrier for average joe and to keep the engine reliable over the life of the engine. The other reason it spikes is becase the ISCV opens fully to help you start the engine, then has to close from there to control the idle.

The idle though, who are you to say it's improving it? It's behaviour is chosen for a reason, and if it's in line with your other examples, it's there because it's the appropriate behavious for the engine.

The noise is only unbearable most likely because of your exhaust and/or pod (if you have one). How noisy can your engine really be before it's falling apart?

I think his concern is the fact its hitting 2000rpm or above as the motor fires. I can tell you right now first hand that is unnecessary, the engine doesnt need those revs to start and idle as ive successfully lowered mine down much lower and there is no difference in starting manners (no mis-firing or struggling - we are in winter atm 4'C mornings).

Its a silly subject to argue on, i know exactly what this guy wants and i was sharing my experience on it. If you dont agree thats fine thats what makes us all different.

    Thanks.

I agree with you JZA70 R... The reason i don't like it is because it's horrible listening to a car run without oil pressure. If i'm gonna be waiting a couple of seconds for it to get pressure i want those few seconds to pass with the engine idling sedately rather than like a maniac at 2000rpm.
