I've just bought a 3.6x3m shade structure thing from Bunnings (been meaning to get one for a while anyway) which supposedly gives 6m2 of shade (depending on where the sun is coming from). About to go & work out some way of disguising the crappy paint on the top of my roof for the 'special' day.

I vote the black car 'cause it's the 'hottest'
I'll see you down there at the gates at 7am then. I can bring a tarp, three star pickets and something to whack them in with. I'll try & grab an esky + ice as well.
I forgot how long it takes to polish a car well. My arms are killing me!

Are there any clothing requirements for the driving events (long pants, covered shoes, helmet)? I can't see any, can anyone confirm?

    Regards

Twiztd: Cool. So, if anyone wants to head down and setup/leave gear, it should be OK then?

With the amount of stuff I have to get organised, I may head down to be at the gates at 7am tomorrow anyway. Not sure I can fit going down today with organising my car, etc. But if someone wants to collect the gazebo from me at Tech Park in Bentley, give me a call on 0422551204.

Peter, yes the usual helmet, long sleeve pants and covered shoe rule. Can carry passenger for grass events, but they also need this gear. It is mentioned in the entrant kit somewhere.

The shade's for the people, not the cars, unless we rig something large enough to cover or provide some shade for them too.

By the way, we've been allocated an area to setup. It's in the book and their web site, up Top Side, which is above the speedway track. So, we can't just setup next to Supra WA

Yeah, I should be down there by about 4 at the latest. Gotta pick up the car from the workshop and refit the glovebox/dashmat/grille/front indicators.... So I reckon I'll be down there by 4ish... If people head down and set up thats no stress, but I wont be down until then so, feel free to chill out and check out the other cars?

Gene: I might be able to pick up the gazebo, but it'll depend on how much space I have left in the car... Gotta fit the spare wheels for burnout comp in first..

No worries, just give me a call if you're going to come collect the gazebo from me at work so I can give you instructions and be ready to give it to you.

For those that don't know, this is the instructions for getting to our area Topside if going down today (Friday):

"Access to the Topside area is via the North eastern corner (down 6th Avenue, turn left into South Avenue and turn right up the roadway leading through the Speedway back straight spectator area)."

"Keep left and walking pace only!"

"During setup on Friday, exit is via the gate leading into the spectator car park".

They recommend we should have a radio to listen to announcements even though there is a PA system. So in-car, external, anyone?

On Saturday morning, all entrants must enter through the competitors gate (first set of gates with 2 lanes as you first get to the complex) and head around. If you make sure you're there for 7am, we'll try to meet up near the entrance and head in together to make it easier for those unsure.

On the map, Topside is marked as "11". More details at their site http://www.motorplex.com.au/motorvation/, but you should have received your entrant pack as that has your tickets and vehicle sticker, which you'll need to get in. If not, I suggest calling them ASAP.

Someone's already posted the diagram of where OST is located on Topside, but if you missed it, it's at: OST location Topside Map

Bit late to join now anyway, but if you head down there pop-in.

Car's packed and almost ready (nothing a bit of last minute polishing at the plex won't fix). So, off to bed for an early rise.
