so the ra60 strut will bolt straight into the ra23? i seen that thread before, but assumed it wouldnt work for a ra23...

i read now that it doesnt fit behind a 14" rim, but that doesnt bother me too much as im running 15's anyway...
but i dont really see the need for a bit of extra stopping powr behind the celica anyway. its a light car, and mine certainly wont be making excessive amounts of power. so the hilux ones will be cheaper and hold out for me

does that sound about right to anyone? or shud i throw this theory down the drain???

ra60 does not bolt into ta22/23 ra23/28 without masses of positive camber.

i repeat does not work ... i tried less than a month ago with both ra60 and ra65 struts.

so yes hilux/pug for functionality beats that hands down.

Why do a brake upgrade then ? Basicly. Most strut tops with work with most struts. The T/R22/23 struts WILL work with RA60/65, If worst comes to worst use RA60/65control arms, that way the kuckles will line up for sure. Got cameber tops ? If not, they usaly are a major part of suspension upgrage. Come on, Enough STOCK games here.

you are right wez, but for the small amount of gain over the hilux conversion, it starts to loose practicality.
the amount of work involved in all of that, and the amount of money spent to get it there almost out weights the advantages of it over the hilux jobbie.
well, atleast thats the way i see it. again, i havent tried either conversion so i geuss im not in much of a place to say...

less ofcourse i add, 'ive read' ahahah anyway, u get wat i'm saying

Also who would run STOCK height RA60/65 struts ? YUK hahahah there so damn high. Short stroke shocks, Coil over sleeve kit, Decent springs too. T3 camber tops, Urathane bushes. Perfect match.

aahahahah, and there goes 1500$ on just the suspension... LOL

although, wouldnt this be the easiest way to go for a coil over conversion? cause there wouldnt be any off the shelf gear for a early celica. corona i dont know about... anyone?
is the coil over kit easily available for the ra60 and which ever others go wif the same...?

some of us own houses AND cars.

hilux is just as good and comes in cheaper and still has exessive braking abilitys for our uses.

track variance is a major consideration too dont forget...start swapping control arms and things get more complicated.

the commy brakes pull up well. heaps of pppl use them on the old cars. rotars and that sort of thing use them all the time...

also, they have been around for ages the hoppers kits. there was a group buy on here a few months ago for them. 25% off or something if 10 ppl bought in... was a good deal back then. but still cheaper to do the hil/peu/ron jobbie...
