Here are thie pics of my timing, turned the Pulley til the mark aligned with 0 and all picture were taken from that position, nothing moved.

Also today ai tried to replace the fuel filter and i have a couple questions.
    1) how the F*#k do you get that bottom line off, it seems impossible, i tried and tried and had to stop because it started rounding the bolt/nut .
    2) there's a rubber line coming out the firewall near the filter, should this be attached to something?
    3) after i mover the Charcoal canister out of the way i noticed the bottom line goes into the chassis behind the wheelarch, is it supposed to be hooked up to another line in there because mine just came straight out with the metal hose bit still attached .

As far as I'm aware/remember, there is a breather hose for the charcol canister.

I'm sorry to say this, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who is in that position re: stuck fuel filter. My ST184 had exactly the same problem, but instead of rounding the bolt I ended up snapping the fuel line. The biggest problem is that you normally use heat on stuck bolts, bad idea on a fuel filter. Lack of leverage is also a big problem. Are you using a spanner on the bottom bolt AND the bottom of the fuel filter ? Also, go and get a 17 mm flare spanner, it will help with not rounding off your bolt. Bunnings has a set for less than $20 including a 17mm.

Tried the spanners on both parts that's how it was rounding, was really freaking tight and one of the bolt for the mounting bracket to the filter is broken so it moved when you were trying to undo it, got it though, wasn't easy but I got it.

Also put some new Interior light in, couldn't slepp at about 1am this morining so i thought i'd better do somethiing and had been putting this off coz i thought it'd be a hard hob, seriously those dash lights are so simple to install, all you need is a phillips head screw driver and they're in in 25min. woulda been less if i didn't do the key light too.

    EDIT**
Started her up for the first time since changing the fuel filter....Got really excited, it has response, depress the accelerator and it doesn't die immediately, revs up to 4000RPM but won't fo higher, i pressume i still have the same problem but that fuel filter was cutting off a lot of fuel to the rail.

Maybe a pressure gauge on the fuel line to see what you are getting ? I might just post my vacuum gauge out to you for a loan since that doubles as a fuel pressure gauge too.

PM me your address and I'll drop it in the post either tomorrow or Monday sometime.

Have you tried to check out the exhaust fumes to see if you are running too rich or too lean ?

will idle very rough now. is very rich.
opening the throttle right up does nothing to the idle. restricting the air pre AFM will allow the car to rev up.
disabled cold start and it still idle'd.

    ideas?
timing belt slipped a few teeth?

Injectors are ADM standard as one of the JDM items had a broken tip so the ADM ones were reco'd with new O rings, they both look the same though.

restricting air = rev up = engine is leeeeean..

try spraying startyabastard in the afm and see if it revs up?

edit or poke the AFM flap to get more fuel in?

edit, is the AFM gummed up and not able to move?

Were the injectors cleaned/serviced before the motor went in?

One or more of them might be blocked,

Also that idle is way too high unless the car is dead cold!

    flap moves freely.
pushing flap does jack though. must be fuel based then. could the fuel pressure reg be borked?
