if you cant set the timing anyless than 10d, i think that means either your cams arent set properly or your dissy isnt alligned properly. eg the notch on the dissy shaft isnt lined up with cyl #1 on your dissy cap and your rotor button at TDC.

what have you been using to set the timing? you should be adjusting the dizzy!

... and if you can't get enough adjustment out of the dizzy it means one of your cams is a tooth or more out

Ok so let's talk Timing, originally i didn't have the terminals bridged so wasn't looking at the Base timing and i couldn't turn the dizzy to get it to 10, so after that i bridged the terminals and looked and it was much closer, had to adjust the TPS anyway, when i got that where i wanted it i checked the Timing and it was on 10. so what dangers am i facing here?
I just got it going i don't wanna destroy something.

what effect does the TPS have on Base timing?

do you have manual to show steps to set TPS and set timing?

it would be really good if you could somehow check the cam timing...

is it possible to turn the engine to TDC, and then take pictures of each set of lobes (particularly the ones facing up) from a viewpoint of horizontal to the head.. to try adn work out the actual angles they are at?
ideally, you could check when the valves are at max lift but not so easy to do.

if ignition base timing is 10deg, then there is not so much danger i don7t think, but if the cams are out, it will always run like shit

But it's running alright, well at least i think it is, i mean for the last 9months since this has been off the roas i've been putting around in a 88 CSX Corolla that's a 4A-C powered box that's a little different to drive.

Hey quick Question doesn't matter if it doesn't get answered, How hard would it be to fit my other 3S-GE into this Rolla do ya think? Rolla needs a new head now but i think it'd really go well with the 3S-GE in it. would the box bolt straight to it?

What's this about a handbrake??
or are you asking where the video is and I'm getting no acceleration because the Handbrake's still on?
Engine itself wasn't accelerating, was short of fuel or choking on air or something, finally diagnosed the problem as being a washer put on the wrong side of my Fuel damper so fuel could squeeze past to get the rail full enough for idle but hit the throttle and fuel couldn't fill the rail enough due to the Damper being blocked.

Ok so i was told that originally because the engine had been sitting around for a fair while that it would be blowing out a bit of condensation for a while, but i've been running it a fair bit and still it's smoking, i may be over reacting but i want it all to be spot on so i'm looking deeply into ever little thing. I'm thinking Valve stem seals, opinions?

Just keep an eye on the oil for a while and see how much it goes through

It's hard to tell in the video if it's just steam or actually oil smoke?
