Plastic bottles are usually either HDPE (High Density Polyethylene, for milk bottles, resin ident number 2), or PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate, for Coke bottles etc, resin ident number 1)

Wasn't sure personally that is was PP as it had the >PP< tag on the Foam insert and front bumper, but I thoroughly checked it for any other markings.

Okay, so pretty much a heat gun.

Btw, are all cable ties PP ? Was looking at some I had and it had no markings on it......

Which means I now have to go buy some but double check for the PP tag.... the guys at the store are going to wondering wtf ? Its a $2 item, some customers..... lol.

    it won't work.

if you are joinging large items together of the same PP, then you use heat or N2 welding. but if you are attaching a metal bracket, bolts or screws and a second bracket behind are the only sure way.

but.. go for gold, you know everything else

merc-blue, what tip/method did you use with the soldering iron ? I tried that previously on some other part and it almost came up trumps, except I don't think I had the method down right to get the best result.

The load will be equivalent to somewhere around 50+kgs of force.
What the hell are you doing on your bumper? :S

and how do you work out "50kgs" of force?

Do you understand force and loading?
