Velco to stick a sub box to the floor

I've heard of big strong velco strips being used to stick a sub box to the floor and make it easier to remove..

Has anyone got any experience on that and/or know where to get the stuff or what the stuff might 'officially' be called?

Not sure of the exact name of stuff we use here at work but we get it from Blackwoods.

They are an engineering/builders supply company.

Another super heavy duty version is known as "Fastener Tape" it is a hook and loop reclosable tape (basically a "Velcro" by another name) and I'll have a supplier name later today.

I use velcro to hang large picture frames at expos. We use the standard velco that you can buy from office suppliers or check out the velco website. It comes in many widths and has a very good adhesive back to it. We've hung some pretty heavy 10kg frames from those cloth partitions with the stuff and haven't had a single breakage.

Thanks mate. I guess 10kg directly against gravity would be as much at 15 kilo only moving laterally.

Office supply places you say?

I picked mine up from Office Works (not sure if their down Vic way or not). It's not the cheapest stuff, but you get what you pay for. We tried some no-name brand once. Didn't even lasrt till the front doors were opened to the public

Make sure you staple/nail/screw the velcro down, I've usually found the adhesive fails rather than the fastener itself. When you're working with a 15kg potential projectile, it pays to not stuff around...

Yeah, staple the velcro to the box and then staple or screw the carpet to the floor of the boot. I had the same issue in my car for a while.
Works well though.

As a side note for how freaking strong velcro is, a guy i know uses it to hold the battery in place in his rally car...

Ha ha, I need to replace the bolt to hold my battery down. Do you think Velrco is RTA approved?

You staple it to the box. You glue the carpet to the floor. Or selftappers,

The other option is a small ratchet strap with the ends bolted to the floor and a couple of guides to feed it through on the box.
