This isn't exactly what the thread is about..... BUT, it does tend to solve a problem with using a smallport in a rwd configuration.......
This first photo is a smallport intake in fwd configuration
this photo (different perspective) shows a smallport in rwd configuration
The typical way to do this is to cut the ends off the intake and reverse them. A bright guy here in Oregon (not me) gave it some thought and came up with a new way........
He cuts the intake... but in a slightly different way...
And then he swapped the whole thing
Now there is some fill required, it isn't a PERFECT fit... BUT the plenum is basically intact(see rwd config photo above), and there is no butchering of vacuum passages, they are neatly incorporated into the chopped section.
One more thing.............
I always had a fear that the runners might be directed towards the end with the T/B... as the following photo shows, the runners are not shaped with an emphasis on either end of the plenum.

nice idea
all the vaccum stuff and cold start injector end up on the wrong side of the inlet manifold though![]()
A crappy photo I made up a while ago shows the difference in sizes with the ports.

Maybe next year - I'm giving this year a miss because of the new job. Hopefully next year will be a 24 hour race so it'll be even bigger.

One of the advantages to doing it this way... is the linkage mounts and the throttle body are in their correct locations in relation to each other... Here are a few photos of it finished
