    Default 2JZGE costs involved?

Hey guys, just trying to get a rough idea on what it would cost to get my hands on a late model 2JZGE front cut, or if anyone does one for a reasonable price for that matter, and where i could get one from...

reason being is that I want to source a VVTi 2JZGE to put in my Z10 Soarer, but if it's going to cost an arm and a leg just to get my hands on an engine I may just settle for a non VVT engine

VVTi 2JZGE's dont have a fuel return line.

That in itself could be a complete headfuck to get going.

Have a gander of this too.

    Swap with older setup ftw.

    OR

Just get the fuel pump with internal regulator from *fuck knows where* and fit that to your own fuel tank.

Swapping with older setup may cause AFR issues.
Who knows what magical devices they managed to use on these motors.

Off Topic, GT, how much to bring a 2JZGE from the states?
I can get one nice and cheap.

It'd want to be free. Freight is a killer.

none of this would mater I assume unless you're going to run the stock engine managment.. then you'd need the fuel pump as well from the same car... but you could just run it with a regulator and then run an adaptronic setup and later upgrade to a 6 throttle setup

If you plan to use the VVTi you are going to have to go with Autronic or MoTeC, which will seriously throw out the budget. And then I'd be looking at using a 1UZ, and spending the extra money on either engine mods, or the rest of the car.

And GT, its close enough to free to make killer freight almost worth it.
    Unless its uber killer freight.

Out of curiosity how much do non-VVTi 2JZGEs go for these days?

hmmm... I think VVTi might get thrown out the window, and there's no way I want to go 1UZ at all. non VVTi engines make about the same power anyway so theres not a huge gain with it other then just saying the vtec just kicked in yo

    What stopping you going 1UZ?

To be honest, if you're going to be ditching the vvti, I'd be just getting a non-vvti version and pocket the difference. The benefits don't really justify the price increase given you're disabling it's most important difference. Having driven a 2JZGE MA61 Supra, I can't see the normal 2JZGE not being a blast in a Z10.
