Default alternatives to a 2s for a rwd?

i have been given a st141 corona ( conrod through the block ) to add to my group of toys and am trying to decide on an engine to drop into it. it had a 2s-c in it and has the borgwarner 5 speed, i have got my 3sgte sitting in the shed from my last project ( fwd rally celica ... crashed on a hill climb ) and it bolts up to the gear box fine. however i have decided against the std turbo ( due to the modifications required to make it clear the mount, face the right way etc. so i was curious or the other options ?

so far i know i can use any of the 3s engines. i was even thinking about rebuilding the 2s using a stronger botom end ( 3sge ) and turboing it ??

will a 5sfe block fit the box? and do they have both engine mounts on them ? do any of the 3s engines have holes in the block to allow for the two engine mounts?

and one more thing any one know anything about the box ?

use the 3SGTE and just do whatever to make the turbo point the right way, make an exhaust manifild if need be.

dont use a 5SFE or 2SC head unless you must be different.

id be temp0ted to just stick a standard engine in it and drive it around, or go the whole deal and put in a 1JZGTE and R154 etc

Converting 3S-GTE to RWD is nowhere near as easy as it seems. Yes the bellhousing bolts up but that's the least of your problems. If you want a 2 litre turbo engine it's cheaper and easier to use something like an SR20.

VZ engines bolting up? I doubt it.

What about a 3RZFE?.... then add a turbo. already a north-south engine for starters.

    IJ or 1G....

Cheap and easy enough (been done before) and will make plenty in standard trim.

Or just sorce a 22R-E. Straight bolt in with upgraded fuel system for the EFI. Easy.

Basically you can't go past a 1G-GTE in these things. Been done plenty of times so there is enough info to go around for you and can easily make enough power for hillclimbs.
