Default Alternatives to RT141 disks for T Series Diffs

    G'Day All

I've done my research into the Rt141 disks onto the T series housings but this is where the problem starts. I dont seem to be able to find any RT141's at any of the wreckers near me. Now i dont know what everyone is going on about with the ST141's but i'm pretty sure that any of the coronas with the 2s engines in them have drums on the back.

My question is are there alternatives to using the Corona rear ends. I've heard something to do with Skylines and Pintaras but had a look at the wreckers the other day and they dont look similar at all.

Or if anyone has the brake setup i'm looking for please let me know.

    Cheers Mike

I take it by the lack of posts that there are no alternatives to using RT141 gear?

also i think pintara wagon rear disks & calipers fit - plus you no longer have a drum brake to worry about as you adapt the handbrake cable to the handbrake fixture at the back of the caliper. This bolts up to an RT142 diff as well as numerous other toyota diffs.

r31 skyline and pintara = same so yeh pintara ones should be the go if you cant find skyline. that is if u dont want to put in the effort and find toyota parts jks. whatever works for you!

i have a set of disks drums and calipers from the st141 avante if you are interested

as for hand brake cables just get the standard corona ones and get them shortened or loop them back and clamp with cable clamps

ooh ninja edit, i remember now, i have skyline C210 disks with hyundia sonata v6 calipers over them had to make up brackets for them

The RT142's rear Disc's & hand brake cables are the go on all early Celica's.. But..
For a TA22/3 or RA23/8 you need 2 x Right hand side cables..
Also some early RA40 need 2 x RH cables..
But other than that RA40/60, & RT141/2's, have one longer one.. the left.. Note :- ( cable is same length, ist the outter that is longer, & you would have to move the mont on the chassis.. )

    Other mod's needed
Q:- what are you fitting them to ..??
    A (1):- RA40/60 needs 2 x 6mm holes drilled & tapped... ( used to hold rubber hose braket to diff )
    A (2):- RA23/8 needs the shocker mount to be moved, & 2 x 6mm holes drilled & tapped ... ( welding also involved )

When fitting the cables to a TA22/3 or RA23/8, you will need to remove the tail shaft, so as to put a small bend in the holder for the plastic bush, after small bend to open it a bit, use a round file to file the hole round again to form a "C" .. now fit cables.. & tail shaft..
The plastic bush on the RA40/60 & RT142 are the same size, But the early cars, eg. TA22 &RA23/8 had smaller bushes..

More pic's & how to Here in my thread.
