Yeah, getting them to fit is the same. It's also worth mentioning to get the knuckle from the p/s rack as the shaft coming out of the rack is larger than the non p/s one.

About what? If you've found a complete KE70 steering setup, get it, and fit it.

I don't think he has though.

He has found a rack, and seperately found a crossmember from SamQ, but he still needs a complete steering column.

If you want to get the steering column made up without having to hack and slash it, I have a guy who setups it up with a unique little carrier bearing, and it's better than new.

Don't worry about the AE86 powersteering knuckles. Just use your standard ones, unless you really want the extra lock...

You need the bottom of the KE70 steering shaft, to weld to the bottom of your celica shaft. You'll want to grab the KE70 shaft that joins the lower KE70 knuckle, to the KE70 rack knuckle.

if ke70 knuckles are the same length as ta ones i would highly recommend power knuckles if you can get them as it will have a large turning circle without. for example i couldnt get close to doing a u in a 2 lane street but with the power knuckles no probs with the extra lock.

    cheers mat

If you can find AE86 p/s knuckles grab them. But they are rather hard to find, lots of people want them, and you'll pay for them...

The P/S knuckles can still be bought new from Toyota last I heard, for cheaper than most people sell the used ones for also.

I think Takai was the one with the info on that.

I got a set new from amayama in japan (forum sponsor) - cheaper than the local dealers could do, and much cheaper than second hand - worth a look.

Just FWIW - I wouldn't go welding the base of the KE70 steering column to the RA23 steering column.

My experience is this doesn't end well.

The solution I found is what I mentioned above - well worth the investment.

Do you happen to have the part number to make it easier on amayama?
