Would you be able to post up some pictures, information, and price on what your guy does with the unique carrier bearing?

Also curious about your experience with why welding the steering columns together doesn't end well?

this is my ra23..... i have ra60 crossmember and ke70 steering collom... i just cut and welded the plate down the bottom to get the steering collom in... only problem i found is the commlom for a ke70 is to short... which would be a problem if you wanted to retain the sotck steering wheel position.....

my car is a race car so i wanted to gain the wider track and i have a removable bos kit and deep dish sparco steering wheel which makes the postion of the wheel perfect.....

also i am running the s13 silvia front end with coilovers.... here is some pics...

this is with the wrong starter motor fitted... correct one is now on there and all good

and here is the postion of the collom... the key is really close to the dash but acceptable....

well ignoring the nissan bit I think that looks pretty well done Slidin. Doing this conversion on a ra23 or 28 looks to be so much easier than a ta22

i dont see how? the conversion was pretty strait forward.... if you use ke70 gear it should be fine....

i have shortened and box'ed lca's i think there mx70 something cressida?? thats why i have epic camber but there fiber glass guards and they will be getting a bit of a cut and shut so i can bring the camber back to an acceptable level... this car is going to the used for hill climb work and time attack......

it's because the mounts need to be significantly raised and also the original A engine mounts moved forward, or alternatively the KE mounts reshaped to suit. Here is a picture of one of my converted ones:

ah makes sence..... i went ra60 for the simple fact that i have put an 18rg into an ra60 before and i know that the 18rg with a front sump bolts up the the crossmember in the stock position.....

and here is a pic to clarfy that.....

unfortunatly i have the early 18rg that doesnt have the second set of hold for the mounts to be moved back so i have to run a small peice of steel 5mm plate inbetween to make it bolt down....

also what are you guys doing with sway bars? are you changing them to the ra60 item or ke70 one as it offers a bit of a kink to allow for the front sump..... mine is a fair way off atm but wasnt sure it if was enough....

as you can sorta see on this pic..

I better add the reason why the crossmember needs to be spaced down is because if the crossmember was lifter higher than the position of the original model then the gearbox would foul against the tunnel. My jig holds it so the bottom of the original crossmember and the donor crossmember are identical

never thought about that haha...... but luckly mine doesnt foul........ i checked it with all the pics i took of mine before and its sitting in pretty much the stock position.... so yeah im pretty stocked with the outcome....

only thing im worried about is the s13 front end set up..... it may cause me to have too much bump steer... if it does and i find it a horrible thing to drive i will change it to stok ra60 front end with some bc coilovers. or just a sleeve coil over kit.......

but thats all testing on the track in the future...

I have very little bumpsteer with my S13 setup and I've never looked back. It's such a huge improvement.
