*seriously, do it!!! I'd love to 2ZZs in as many cars as possible, a much under-rated engine... but yes, it's damn expensive.
KE10 with a 2ZZ-GE... Not cheap, but plenty of atmo power, with awesome fuel economy and factory reliability.

Has anyone run 2zz in front engine RWD platform yet...I thought there was difficulties with a lack of engine mount points...would be awesome though in an 800kg car![]()
There have been rumors of an AE86 getting a 2ZZ but I've never seen any evidence.
It has been mounted N-S into clubmans though.
yeah, 2zzge seams alittle out of my price range, espically with all the custom work needed to be done.

thats a thread on roller club talking about the 2zz conversion.
It was just an example of the fuel economy. With a much lighter car, and a newer, well tuned engine you could do MUCH better! Its a mechanical injection system that the Jackaroo system which produces medeocre results. More power, and better economy.Originally Posted by xcedricx

lolz... also light comericals are both heaver and geared differently so it wouldnt promote great fuel econ.
but still i think if i was to change fuels LPG would be the way to go.

imo a stripped out early ke wouldnt make a great daily driver. they are very agricultural and noisey.. and thats stock. theres no little luxuries at all, not even a day night mirror!
also its gettin real hard to get decent parts for them.
but if you were to do it..
early ke
blacktop 4age
gas injection, use dohnut tank for easy mounting, and piss off the gas ecu, and use a remapped factory ecu, like a delco or similar, and if possible use staged injection
8" rims = worse fuel economy. 6 or 7's with good quality rubber should be plenty
keep everything light, use T series disc brake rear, smallish vented discs with alloy calipers, alloy tube tailshaft
fibreglass race seat etc
go on a diet

Much easier than a 2ZZ too, though I would love to see that.

Ive been thinking about this.
Perhaps, AW11 with a gas conversion. Do some small engine work on it, and your laughing. RWD, mid mount, good economy, great handling, fairly easy to get parts.

i dont mind the noise, no accessorices and agriculturalness about them, im really looking for a bare bones simple as car to drive around.Originally Posted by MRMOPARMAN
had a look at one of thoes dohnut tanks, very good idea, was thinking of a normal tank mounted behind the back seats in the boot but that could work just as well, didnt know they existed.
what do ke10, ke20's run for diffs in the first place?
AW11's are cool but ill have no where to put my BMX... at leased with the roller i can take the front wheel off and put it in the back.
just to be untoyota for a moment.. 13BT in a VW beetle? I hear its a case of flipping the diff over or something, don't quite see how that works but much fun to be had by all

A Mazda 1000 ute is RWD 660kg *including* the styleside tray which is removable.
Legally you can fit up to a 1980cc atmo engine (1.6 or 1.8 MX5 engine?) or a 1650cc turbo engine (4AGTE).
Oh and I have one for sale if anyone is interested![]()
