I use 262 on just about everything.
I have new flywheel bolts supplied with the kit i bought hence me asking..Originally Posted by wilbo666
It says to use 242 on the PP cover bolts. Is the 243 a locker also? Does it matter?

I don't think you can get 242 anymore...I think 243 is the replacement...Originally Posted by Endless
Might be wrong tho!

The holes go through so a sealer would be good

out of curiosity how do you guys go using 567 on hot parts. loctite only rate it to 150deg. ive got an application where i need to seal a 1.5"BSP tapered pipe which will have oil in it up to 300deg and am struggling to find a suitable thread sealer.. 3m do one which goes to about 260 but i cant find anything higher
Just for the record i have gone with the 262.Originally Posted by CrUZida

243 was the medium strength and 262 was a higher strength. 262 is locker and sealer so i will just use it on both the flywheel bolts and PP cover rather than buy 2 of the same kinda thing.

loctite 262 is good shit. its is what i used on my flywheel bolts and is what is recommended in the manual. The thread sealant wont be as good simply because it isn't a high strength thread locker aswell, personally i would spend the extra 15 or so dollars then have my flywheel come loose and cut my leg off![]()
