Reading through the Innovate web forum it seems a lot of people are having trouble with them

I just bought a LC-1 & G-2 gauge kit for permanent install in my GT4.
    Some install photos:

The supplied G2 gauge, status LED and calibration button:

The above three installed in a Speco dash mount housing.

    Sensor installed:

The LC-1 unit squeezed up against the ABS brick. The sensor cable is short, so this is pretty much the only place i could fit it. Not ideal (too close to the alt belt for my liking), but itll do.

    Gauge installed on the dash.

    It works perfectly
Ananlog out 1 goes to the Microtech ECU (tho kinda usless), Analog out 2 goes to the G2 gauge.
The RS232 serial cable also gets plugged into my laptop when doing tuning.

The LogWorks software then produces a graph as you can see here at the top:

I'll update with more info on the kit ASAP. More than likely i'll be the guinea pig doing all the real world testing

Karl, is it based on the old WB02 design (but updated for a much cheaper yet just as goof if not better sensor)?

edit: needs an ABS or similar case with mounting lugs

    i have no idea.
Grab the Sept Silicon Chip magazine when it hits shelves.

It seems to be PIC based....

I couldn't see the jaycar one in the sep catalogue and get nothing when I search the website. Do you know any more about the release date Karl?

    Chris,

current release date is early Oct. Check the October fliers in late Sept (usually released 25th of the month).
I should get my hands on the prototype sample soon enough.

I have one on my car. I think it works great. You must follow the grounding procedure to the letter. I ran a ground from the engine block to a ground buss then to the LC1. From what I understand also the problems people are having are on the analog outputs. The LC1 I have has a XD16 gauge that has a serial connection not effected by ground offset problems.

I also think people forget what these things are they are not laboratory grade widebands. They are not going to be 100% accurate (they are pretty close). I remember ten years ago the only thing available for wideband tuning was a $6000+ US laboratory grade lunchbox size unite with a UEGO sensor that cost $600 US.

I looked up LC-1 / XD-16 kits on ebay last night (what ive already got) and they have come down in price.

You can get the kit for under $350 AUD delivered which is dirt cheap compared to what i paid for it last year...

MWP: I take it you have the stock 0-1v setting for the o2 sensor on the microtech and that is why you say it is pretty useless? Can upgrade it to 0-5v for $100. I will be doing this with mine as I really like it for datalogging. Easier to read when all on the one graph I reckon.

Even with the 0-5V upgrade it still doesn't perform any closed loop functions though does it?

As you noted though, is useful for datalogging.

    nah, just for datalogging.

Just had a look at the innovate software and wondering if you have the 0-1v microtech if it is worth just splicing into the TPS, MAP, RPM wires and using the logworks software as it looks pretty good. Save you $100 for the 0-5v upgrade and if you are then just going to log manually you don't need the ecu logging either (although this is handy for when you forget to press the button before a race ) which is another $100. Wanna do it MWP and tell me how it goes as I have a stock microtech which I am not sure if I will get upgraded or not

This in particular is something the microtech logging doesn't do. You can get everything in text but not in such a simple format like this. This can be done on the Tewblog logging software for my old school WBo2 one but I went the easy way and used the microtech logging with the other car.

When I had my Microtech I did all my logging through my WBO2 unit and software, was invaluable as a tuning tool.
