Default 2jz torque converter? will 1jz fit?

    hey guys,

having a bit of trouble finding a 2jzgte torque converter 2nd hand.

    im using a jzx81 a340 box with 2jzgte.

can i use any 1jz converter??? and will it bolt to the flex plate?

i searched and googled didn't find the answer i was looking for exactly. i found that the 1jz and 2jz where different apparently, it was said they had different splines or something along those lines as well as being phycially bigger. but i dont know what box that is with.

    thanks
    Aaron

If your using a jzx81 box you will need to use a 1jz convertor and flexplate.
I am running a a340 out of a jzx90 and had to change to the 1jz flex plate and convertor onto my 2jz as the bolt spacings for the convertor are slightly different.
The 2jz belhousing will not fit inside the 1jz a340 bellhousing unless you use a j3 bellhousing but then im not sure the splines will line up.
